Two hours from Tashkent: a cable car, a mountain hike and a night by the reservoir.
The easiest way out of the city. Leave Saturday morning and you are at the foot of Chimgan by midday. Up on the cable car, along the ridge; the night is spent at a guesthouse on Charvak.
Out of Tashkent, up the Beldersay cable car and along the ridge toward Kumbel. Dinner by Charvak in the evening.
A morning swim or a boat trip on the reservoir (season permitting), then back to Tashkent after lunch.
The perfect weekend option. We left Saturday morning and were home Sunday evening, yet it felt like a proper holiday. The guesthouse on Charvak was spotless.
